Another wonderful part of travel is photography. I am not a professional photographer, but wherever I go my compact camera goes too. As we make our way around the world my camera is poised to capture not just those iconic sites but also the everyday life in the places we visit. And just sometimes, whether it is luck or an eye for a good shot I capture the colour, an atmospheric scene, the spirit of the people, a meaningful expression which defines the country and its people. That special shot which leaves a lasting impression and furthermore a hunger for travel.
On occasions my photography catches the eye of renowned Suffolk artist Norma K Read, who beautifully reproduces the image in her own style. Below are some of my photographs alongside Norma’s paintings, to see more visit her site too at

Hello Joe, long time no speak! This is Phil, giving away the trade secret… Norma the artist is Michaela’s Mum….but don’t tell anyone…
Joe
Hey Phil, I apologize for being such a stranger. While at home, I tend to get lazy about keeping up with my travel friends. Norma and Michaela make quite an impressive mother-daughter team. You are a lucky man, but we’ll keep that a secret.
