Next up: Greece. Hopefully.
Our third trip to Greece together is just three weeks away now, just three weeks till we hit sun, sand, retsina, fresh fish, dolmades, village wine and all the other things which Greece has to offer.
So why “hopefully “? Well, because here in England industrial action is looming and airport security staff have voted to strike at regular intervals through the peak season, with our chosen airport of Gatwick due to be hit. We can’t relate to a mentality which believes that the right way to draw attention to a pay dispute is to disrupt the lives of innocent people, especially by damaging the annual holiday they have worked hard to earn. We have no sympathy.
But with a bit of luck we will miss it and it won’t affect us, we will see. Once away, we are heading this time for the Cyclades, aiming to stay on the islands of Andros, Tinos and Syros, then ending up with a few days in Athens.
Three weeks. And counting.

I liked the story about the bus drivers in Okayama, Japan, who striked but did it by still driving their passengers around, they just refused to take fares – impacting the people they had beef with rather than innocent people just wanting to live their life.
